My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where children and families feel heard, respected, and empowered. Believing that children learn best when they are engaged and having fun, I incorporate natural environment teaching (NET) and play-based learning into my sessions to encourage meaningful skill development and real-world application.
Over the past two and a half years as an Instructor Therapist in a centre-based setting, I have worked with children of various ages and abilities. My experience includes one-to-one therapy, Entry to School programming, program development, and facilitating social skills groups focused on communication, emotional regulation, and positive peer interactions.
I have training and experience in a variety of assessment and teaching frameworks, including the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), PEAK, ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP, and Direct Instruction (DI). These approaches have helped me develop individualized programs tailored to each child’s unique strengths, needs, and goals.
Building strong, trusting relationships with children and their families is at the heart of my practice. I believe therapy is most effective when it is collaborative, individualized, and focused on helping each child develop meaningful skills that promote independence and enhance their quality of life.
